Hugh McCormick is a life long resident of Henderson and graduated from Henderson City High School in 1975. Hugh is serving his first term as Henderson County Judge/Executive. Judge McCormick worked at Big Rivers Electric Corporation for 30 years as an auxiliary operator. He was elected as Magistrate District #4 in January of 1994 and served in that capacity until September 2010 when he was appointed Henderson County Judge/Executive by Governor Steve Beshear to fill the vacancy left due to the death of long time County Judge/Executive, Sandy Lee Watkins.

Sue Baker is Assistant to the County Judge/Executive. She is responsible for scheduling meetings with the Judge; preparing correspondence; overseeing coal severance grants, DRA grants and Homeland Security grants, etc.. Sue replaces the Fiscal Court Clerk in her absence at court meetings; assists Magistrates with day-to-day activities; and acts as liason for the County Judge.

Judge Executive Magistrates

Magistrates are elected officials whose terms last 4 years. Their administrative duties include, caring for county roads, bridges, property, and levy of property taxes. The magistrates possess official power only as members of Fiscal Court.
