The County Treasurer is appointed by fiscal court under KRS 68.010. She receives and disburses money for county government at the order of the fiscal court. She must keep records and reports as set out in KRS 68.210, 68.00, 68.300, 68.360 & 66.480.

The Treasurer's office is also where the Finance officer works. The Finance Officer receives and prepares all county claims. She also is responsible for the payroll of the county offices.
